Greetings, Adventurer.

This is the Black Desert Mobile Studio.

Last February 26, we greeted our Adventurers during the 6th anniversary live broadcast.
Now, April has passed, and spring has arrived with cherry blossoms in full bloom.

We extend our heartfelt thanks once again to the Adventurers
who continue to love Black Desert Mobile.

The first quarter of 2025 kept us busy with updates for the content
introduced at last December's Calpheon Ball.

Today, through the Developer Notes, we would like to share details about the upcoming Rabam Skills,
as well as some stories Adventurers have shared with us through the Official Forum and Support.

You can find more details below.
※ Please note that the content is currently under development and some images are in Korean. Thank you for your understanding.

Rabam Skills

First, the Rabam Skills introduced at the Calpheon Ball are scheduled to be updated during maintenance on Apr 22 (Tue).

Rabam Skills are designed either to complement a class's weaknesses or to deliver powerful damage comparable to Succession Skills even at level 1.
The damage increases significantly as they level up, making them the equivalent of an "ultimate attack."

Due to these reasons, they have a relatively long Cooldown of about 20 seconds, which can be reduced through enhancements upon reaching level 4.
And at levels 1, 7, and 10, you can customize the skills by selecting branch and skill effects to suit your needs.

Next, we'd like to discuss the skill slots.
While preparing the Rabam Skills, skill slots were a big part of our concern.

Adding a slot each time a new skill is introduced poses challenges in a mobile environment,
and an increased number of skill slots makes control more difficult for some Adventurers, sparking debate.

However, with the addition of Rabam skills, we concluded that the current 8 slots are insufficient for equipping and using the skills as you wish, so we plan to increase the skill slots to 10.
The update schedule for the 10-Key Slot will be announced in future patch notes, and we will do our best to ensure Adventurers can use it with ease.

Example: An updated version of the existing [Standard B] and [8-Key] skill slots expanded to 10 slots.

Class Balance

Next is about the class balance.

Many Adventurers are sharing their opinions on Class balance through the Official Forum and Support.
In these Developer Notes, we would like to share some of the things we are currently working on.

1. Grab Skills

A. We plan to add an icon to clearly indicate when a character is in a Grab Immunity state.

An icon will be displayed during Grab Immunity to help you determine
whether an enemy Adventurer can be grabbed, in the same manner as Super Armor.

B. We plan to make an improvement that temporarily applies Grab Immunity after having been grabbed twice or more.
Currently, multiple characters with grab skills can chain their grabs to a single character.
To prevent such situation that makes a character completely helpless, we will be implementing temporary Grab Immunity upon being grabbed twice or more.

In the image above, you can see that upon getting grabbed twice or more, the character gains Grab Immunity for 4 seconds, indicated by the icon.
We set 4 sec as a momentary time to escape the continuous grabs and make actions, as it being too long could diminish the performance and usefulness of grab skills.

C. We plan to adjust the skills with Grab Immunity for each class.
Grab Immunity is intended both for skills that would seem unnatural if interrupted by grabs,
such as those involving high jumps, and for providing the opportunity to fully execute skills with long motions.

However, adding Grab Immunity according to this principle gave some Classes more Grab Immunity skills than others.
To address this, we will remove Grab Immunity from skills that can cancel motions when used as combos, like Dosa's Taeguk, or skills where being grabbed doesn't seem unnatural,
so that each class has 2 to 3 skills with Grab Immunity.

2. Class Balance Patch
We plan to prioritize balance patches for classes that have been released for a long time or are underperforming compared to others.
Additionally, we will speed up the balance patches that downscale classes that are performing too well,
so there isn't a class that performs exceptionally better.

Black Shrine

We plan to remove the time limit from the Black Shrine and introduce a Time Attack system.

Since the Black Shrine's Calamity 7 update, many Adventurers have been taking on the challenge.
However, many have expressed opinions about how hard it is to clear due to its high difficulty.

The Calamity 6 and Calamity 7 of the Black Shrine are designed as challenges that allow you to gauge your progress through the content.
We hoped that even if you can't clear them at the moment, you would feel a sense of accomplishment by eventually clearing them as you understand the mechanics and find the right aura for your class through hard work and progress.

However, we also believe that boss mechanics which are overly difficult, causing failure despite your best efforts
and resulting in stress rather than satisfaction, are not ideal.

Therefore, we will remove the time limit from the Black Shrine, allowing anyone to clear it with enough effort,
and introduce a system where Adventurers with the fastest clear times each week are rewarded through the Time Attack system
to allow the same sense of accomplishment as before.

Nightmare

First, we'd like to address the decreased amount of [Abyssal] and [Primal] Charms of Succession
rewarded from Nightmare: Tshira, which was applied in this week's update.

After the initial update of Nightmare: Tshira, we observed that the drop rate of Charms of Succession was significantly higher than our expectations.
However, as adjusting the drop rate immediately could diminish the fun for many Adventurers who were enjoying the returned Nightmare,
we decided to maintain the first season as is, and adjust the drop rate starting from this week's update with the beginning of the second season.

We ask for your understanding on this matter,
and we will do our best to ensure that the updates are carefully reviewed to avoid any inconvenience in your gameplay.

Next is about stagnation.
With the recent update to Nightmare, our biggest concern was stagnation, where only a few Adventurers would engage with the content.

We hoped to prevent this by displaying Family names as "Unknown Adventurer"
to encourage more combat regardless of identity.

However, when a Guild War is declared, some players could still identify others in Nightmare
by the mark next to their Family name if they belong to the Guild that declared the war. We plan to improve on this issue.

We will continue striving to make Nightmare a content that many Adventurers can enjoy.

Black Sun, Night of Vengeful Souls

Next, we'd like to discuss the Black Sun and Night of Vengeful Souls.
Currently, more than half of the Adventurers leave the map once they achieve between 10,000 and 100,000 points.

Adventurers with lower CP showed the tendency to leave after achieving a certain amount of points while avoiding combat,
to prevent losing the hard-earned points when they are defeated by another Adventurer.
To address this, we plan to change the point system.

1. The point multiplier of monsters will be increased.
This adjustment will allow Adventurers with relatively lower CP to quickly earn higher points by defeating monsters.
Additionally, once a certain threshold is reached, more points will be awarded for defeating enemy Adventurers
rather than just hunting monsters, preventing the focus from being solely on hunting.

2. A point storing system will be introduced.
Points obtained can be stored at certain intervals, allowing Adventurers to receive rewards based on the stored points when Black Sun and Night of Vengeful Souls ends.
※ Example: If you store a score of 100,000 points, you can still receive rewards for 100,000 points at the end even if your score drops to 30,000 points after combat.

Example: When you achieve 50,000 points during a hunt, the "Offer Points" button will activate, allowing you to store your score by tapping it.

We hope to see more combat as you will be able to obtain rewards for your recorded points,
even if you lose them from being defeated.

3. Points gained from defeating an enemy Adventurer will scale based on the difference between your score and theirs.
Currently, defeating an Adventurer grants 30% of their points.
We plan to change this so that larger score gaps yield fewer points, while defeating an Adventurer with a similar score grants more.
This also aims to prevent the practice of intentional feeding through alt characters to funnel points to a main character.

Example: An Adventurer with 180,000 points defeats another Adventurer with 100,000 points, gaining about 20% of their score.
※ 20% is an example and will be adjusted in the actual update.

Additionally, here are some planned improvements:
1. Roaming Monsters will be added.
For more dynamic fun in Black Sun and Night of Vengeful Souls, we plan to add roaming monsters that appear and move around various locations.
Instead of staying in one place to hunt, you can track these monsters down, defeat them, earn rewards,
and engage with other Adventurers who also converge on the hunt, hopefully providing a livelier, more engaging experience.

2. Rewards will be obtained directly instead of through Appraisal Items.
Currently, the rewards that boost your CP cannot be obtained without appraisal.
To alleviate the need for Silver for appraisal, rewards will be obtained directly, instead of appraisal items.

Quality of Life

1. Wardrobe Slots

Some Adventurers are out of wardrobe slots or are close to it, but continued expansion of wardrobe slots is difficult.
To address this, we plan to offer a feature that allows you to repack and store purchased outfits in your alt character's inventory.

2. Camp Decorations
There have been consistent requests to allow more decorations to be placed to make your camp more stylish and beautiful.
Since Black Desert Mobile is tailored for mobile environments, installing too many decorations could cause them to not display properly.
We'll check the limit to ensure it won't cause issues and review this positively.

3. Fairy Skills
We plan to add a preset feature to allow you to use Fairy Skills according to your situation.
The presets will enable you to use Fairy Skills suited to each situation, whether challenging the Black Shrine, hunting in the Great Desert, or using the Market.
Additionally, intellect will only be required when learning the skills, not when equipping them, allowing you to freely configure your skills.

4. Eilton Defense Schedule
To resolve not being able to play this content due to personal schedules or the early morning hours,
we plan to implement a fixed schedule for entry about three times a week.

5. Family Name Change
When changing your Family name, it will also be removed from whispers and enemy lists.

6. Battlefield of the Sun leave penalty
We plan to introduce a system where stacks accumulate upon leaving the battlefield, and penalties will be longer based on the number of stacks.

7. Dormant Family Name Reset
We will be resetting the names of Families that haven't accessed the game for a long time after confirming their last played date, making them available for use.

Additionally, we're preparing various Quality of Life improvements, such as skipping introductory cutscenes in the Land of the Morning Light.
We will do our best to ensure Adventurers can explore the world of Black Desert Mobile more comfortably.
